Monday Questionnaire: November 17th, 2014

Happy Monday! It's a cold one here today! It snowed Saturday and then started getting really cold Sunday and today is probably the coldest day with the high only being 18. I'm really not feeling the cold weather. This weekend was really nice and relaxing. I worked on some art with my Grandpa. He's really good at painting and drawing, so we got out his old art set that he had and played around with it. He had some watercolors which are super fun to work with! I'm currently in the process of working on something with that. I'm having so much fun with drawing and painting right now. I never thought I could do any of it and it's like now I can't stop drawing! I also worked on my novel some this weekend. I was kind of having trouble with it for a couple of days, but I'm back to working on it. I also got some new things up on my Zazzle shop this weekend. And played with the kittens. It was a pretty productive weekend! :)

This weeks picture is one that I took last night of the sunset. It was gorgeous! I love the reflection of the sunset on the pond.

1. Do you know how to play an instruments?

I know a few chords on the guitar and that's it. I own a violin and I wish I knew how to play it, but I never got around to taking lessons. Maybe I'll do that soon!

2. If you could hang out with the cast of a TV show, who would you hang out with?

I would hang out with the cast of Parks And Rec. They all seem really cool and I LOVE Amy Poehler. She's hilarious!

3. What is one thing you'll for sure have on your Christmas list?

The Urban Decay Naked Basics 2 palette. I really want it!

4. Current nail polish:

Yes, I switched it up and I'm not wearing the French Manicure this week. ;)

5. Do you have any motivational quotes to share to start the week?

This has been one of my favorites lately!

My Week In Photos #76!

Happy Saturday! Where did this week go? I was planning so many posts this week, but it just seemed like I got super busy everyday. And then I was working on my novel and Zazzle shop and I didn't even get any new videos up last week which I was kind of bummed about. Then Thursday I randomly decided to go see my Grandparents so I'm currently working with their slow country internet. So that doesn't help in the video department haha. Anyways, next week should be back to normal with posts and videos.

What are you guys doing this weekend? I'm staying inside because it's supposed to snow today! I'm pretty excited about the snow. But it's supposed to get really cold tomorrow, so I'm not looking forward to that! Tell me in the comments below what you've got planned for the weekend!

Monday Questionnaire: November 10, 2014

Happy Monday! :) I hope you guys had a great weekend! I didn't really do a whole bunch, just ran the usual errands Target and Starbucks. I really like simple weekends like that. This week is going to be crazy because it's going to get COLD! Like Wednesday the high is only going to be 33 which is just crazy. But I'm kind of excited for it. Even though I don't like being cold I love the cold weather fashion haha.

This weeks picture is from yesterday! This was my OOTD for yesterday. I live in leggings haha! My sweater is from a local boutique, brown shirt is from JC Penney and that's where the leggings are from too, boots are from Rack Room Shoes, and bag is from Francesca's Collections.

1. Have you ever seen someone who looks like you?

I haven't personally seen them, like out and about or anything. But a long time ago, someone said they saw my commercial on TV. I was super confused because well, I've never been in a commercial. Apparently this girl they saw looked EXACTLY like me. I never saw the commercial so I don't know. Also, I've been told that I look like Miranda Cosgrove.

2. What is your all time favorite foundation?

NARS Sheer Glow! It is amazing! I love it because it gives me enough coverage and is lightweight. I really like that this foundation is build-able so if you feel like you need more coverage you can add more product!

AHH the power just went out! Not even kidding.

Okay, it's back on now! Moving on to the next question!

3. Have you been listening to any new tunes lately?

I've been loving Geronimo by Sheppard. And Riptide by Vance Joy.

4. Current nail polish:

Once again I'm wearing my Orly French Manicure kit! I know it's all I've been wearing lately!

5. When was the last time you bought shoes?

You guys are going to think I'm crazy, but the last time I bought shoes was back in May and that was my Nike tennis shoes. I don't like shoe shopping! Well, I guess I should rephrase that. I like shopping and looking at shoes, I just don't like the part where the people help you with your shoes. If that makes sense.

My Week In Photos #75!

Happy Saturday! I hope you all had a great first week of November! My week was pretty good. Even though I was a little stressed out from NaNoWriMo writing and the fact that I couldn't update my word count, I was pretty proud of what I did get done with my novel. My Dad and I also finished my Great Auntie's floor this week so that was really exciting! It was a lot of work and I'm glad we're done. I think she's glad we're done too because she can make her house look like a house again and have things organized where they're supposed to be. It made me feel really good to do her floors because you could really tell how thankful she was that we did the floors for her.

So, what do you guys have planned this weekend? I know that I need to run to Target and Starbucks. And let's be real, I pretty much do that EVERY weekend haha. I really didn't use Instagram much this week because I was SO busy!

This cutie <33 | Cappuccino made ready to start working on my novel!

Maybelline Eyestudio Eyeshadow Quad in Give Me Gold: Review & Swatches!

Back in June I posted reviews of all the Maybelline Eyestudio Quads that I had…Or so I thought. I went through my collection and found this quad that I totally forgot that I had! I don't even know how I forgot about it. Anyways, today I'm going to review it for you! This quad is called Give Me Gold and it's probably my favorite one that I have.

I can't believe how pigmented these eyeshadows are! They apply like butter to my eyelids. Okay, that sounded a lot weirder than it was supposed to haha. The point is they apply super smoothly! They also blend really easily too. The eyeshadows in this quad are pretty shimmery, so if you're not really a fan of shimmery eyeshadows then this quad may not be for you.

Now, here's a swatch! :)

I got this quad at Ulta for about $10.00.

Have you ever used one of the Maybelline Eyestudio quads? Let me know in the comments!

How To Make Your At Home Manicure Last

I'm always looking for ways to save money, and one way I have found to help me save a few bucks is to skip going to the nail salon and painting my nails myself. I know so many of us LOVE the gel manicures because they last awhile on our nails. And while they are nice because you can go a couple weeks without any chips, they're just a little pricey for me. So today I'm going to share with you some tips to help your at home manicure last!

-Don't skip the base/top coat

When I first started painting my nails, I never used a base coat or a top coat. I didn't know what they were! But I was getting so frustrated because my nail polish wasn't staying on! I personally really like Essie's First Base base coat. This is a color adhesive and primer, so the nail polish will stick to your nails and it creates a smooth nail for color application. For top coats I love my Sally Hansen Super Shine top coat. Not only does this protect my nails and allow me to go a week without chipping, it makes my nails super shiny! Similar to what they'd look like if I got them done at a salon.

-Chores are not your manicures bff

I know you can't stop doing your chores when trying to keep your mani looking nice, so next time you have to do dishes wear some gloves! They make gloves that are specifically for use when doing dishes or other chores that you have to do that might cause you to chip your mani. Plus, they're super affordable!

-Make sure your nails are clean

Even if you're starting off with bare nails, you want to run over them with a nail polish remover. When I give myself a manicure at home I like to make it as much like the salon as possible, so I'll apply lotion on my hands and nail beds. The lotion can actually cause your polish to not stick to nails! So you want to run a cotton ball soaked in nail polish remover over to clean nails to ensure that any lotion or oils are removed from your nails before applying nail polish.

-You can do a french manicure at home

If you're someone who loves how french manicures look, you can easily do them at home! I've been loving the Orly French Manicure kit. If you're unsure if you can paint the french tips, this kit comes with tip guides. And if you run out of tip guides, you can buy more for only $5! The Orly polishes are amazing quality too!

-Allow your nails to dry

I am really bad at allowing my nails to dry completely before going off to do something. When you allow proper drying time, your nail polish will last longer. Let your nails dry in between coats of polish and that will help make sure that each layer is dry, because it can take up to 12 hours for nail polish to be completely dry. Which is just crazy! If you're like me and want to do work after your nails are dry to touch, wash your hands in cold water. The cold water will help the nail polish set faster!

-Reapply your top coat

One of my biggest secrets to keeping your manicure for a week or two is to reapply your top coat every couple of days. This will also keep your nails looking nice and shiny!

Those are my tips to making sure your at home manicures last! I hope you found them helpful. And if you have any tips of your own, make sure to share them in the comments!

What color are you currently wearing? Let me know in the comments below!

Monday Questionnaire: November 3rd, 2014

Happy Monday! How are you guys doing with the time change? I'm actually not doing too bad. I know I do a lot better with this time change. So today is going to be a super busy and productive day! I'm trying to get caught up on all the work I missed last week when I was sick. I'm feeling better today, but still not 100%. My chest feels super congested still and so does my head. I'm hoping I don't have to take anymore DayQuil today! Anyways, today I'm going to hopefully film some videos, clean, workout (if I feel okay to do so), get this weeks posts ready, edit videos, and then write for NaNoWriMo. I'm going to be busy but I think I can get everything on my to do list done! :)

This weeks picture is a picture of a bear that I drew last week! I didn't think I could draw, but I randomly sat down and thought that I would try to draw something. And I came up with this cute little bear! I have to say, after I drew it, I was pretty proud of myself because honestly I didn't think I could draw anything!

1. How was your weekend?

My weekend was good! I didn't do anything super fun because of my cold, but it was still a good weekend just hanging at home with my family. <3

2. Are there any holiday makeup sets you've been eyeing lately?

There are! Benefit has some super cute makeup sets that are out for Christmas. And of course Too Faced has another holiday eyeshadow palette that I need in my life! It's so pretty!

3. Under my bed you'll find…

Dust bunnies and storage boxes.

4. Current nail polish:

I'm wearing another french manicure that I did with my Orly french manicure kit! It's my go to look right now. :)

5. Are you excited that November is here?

I am! I can't believe that it's already November, but I'm excited to see what happens in November. Also, Thanksgiving! Yum!
